What is Feng Shui?
Feng Shui is a Chinese discipline that explores the relationship between people and the spaces they live in. Its goal is to optimise the flow of energy (chi) to enhance wellbeing and balance.
It works with tangible elements such as layout, orientation, natural light, materials and furniture placement.
The origin of Feng Shui
Feng Shui dates back more than 3,000 years to ancient China, emerging from the observation of nature and the relationship between humans and their environment.
Over time, it has evolved into a system combining philosophy, intuition and spatial analysis, now applied in both residential and professional spaces.
How I apply Feng Shui in my projects
At KATJA WERTHMANN ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN, Feng Shui is not an add-on, but an integral part of the design process.
- Spatial layout and functionality
- Natural light
- Materials and colours
- Relationship between people and space
The aim is to create spaces that not only look good, but feel right.
Spaces shape how you feel
A space can bring calm or tension, clarity or mental noise. Sometimes, small changes can transform how a place is experienced.
Feng Shui is about understanding what is happening in a space and improving it in a meaningful way.
Let’s talk
If you would like to understand how your space affects your daily life, I can help you analyse it through a conscious and architectural approach.
