Exhibition design: when architecture tells stories

Exhibition design transforms ideas into spatial experiences. Discover how museography combines architecture, narrative and emotion.

Museography is one of the most compelling disciplines within architecture. It is not only about designing a space, but about building a narrative that is experienced through movement.

In exhibition design, every decision has a purpose: light guides the eye, circulation defines rhythm, materials add character and scale creates emotion. Everything becomes part of a language that communicates ideas.

My work in museography focuses on transforming content into spatial experiences that connect with people. Each project is an opportunity to translate concepts into atmospheres, creating spaces that not only inform, but also move and remain in memory.

In recent years, I have participated in the development of temporary and permanent exhibitions, collaborating on projects such as Rezola Torroja (2024), Zumalakarregi Carlicaturas (2025), Balenciaga (2025), JAE European Housing Award (2025), Rezola Basterretxea (2026) and Alkiza (2026).

Museography allows for a high degree of creative freedom. It is a field where architecture approaches art and where each project becomes a unique experience.

Designing an exhibition is not just about arranging objects in a room. It is about creating a meaningful journey that engages, inspires and invites new perspectives.
